We have spent the past two weeks making final preparations for our first competition: The Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, Minnesota! Tomorrow morning, a small team will leave Naperville and drive to Duluth. Practice matches are Thursday, qualification matches Friday and Saturday morning, and elimination matches Saturday afternoon. For updates from the competition, check the web site and follow us on Twitter @team3061.

Tonight we will load our tools, extra materials, laptops, flag, banners, buttons, and Lucy into the trailer and bus.

We identified several issues before we had to seal Lucy, our robot, away on Tuesday, February 21st. We hope that we’ve address these over the past two weeks and have packed new motor mounts, new sprockets, and other materials so make quick changes on Thursday.

We spent most of our time over these past two weeks improving the ball launcher and working on the software. While we still have some final issues to address on the bus ride to Duluth, significant progress has been made:

We anticipate that the Lake Superior Regional will be an amazing learning experience. We will have a week-and-a-half when we return to make any final adjustments before the Midwest Regional in Chicago at the UIC Pavilion. Save the dates for the Midwest Regional on your calendars! The matches are Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th. For more information on the agenda, refer to the regional web site. You will not want to miss this event!

1 day until we depart for Duluth!
